WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

Have you ever wanted to learn to sew? Or perhaps you have been looking for that bit of motivation to dust off your machine and get your groove on again.

Tiffany from ‘Thanks it has Pockets’ just adores creating amazing garments and she is joining us in the studio to share all her tips and tricks.

In this workshop we will cover some sewing basics including straight and zig zag stitches, how to tame raw edges and how to insert an elastic waistband. We will work through step by step to create a versatile mid length skirt that can be styled up or down depending on the occasion.

You will have the option to hire one of our sewing machines or you are welcome to BYO.

If you have a fabric stash at home to raid or perhaps you'd like to browse the fabric store to find the perfect print for your skirt, you will need approx. 2 meters of fabric and thread to match.  Cotton or cotton poplin are recommended.  Please avoid rayon fabric for this class.

We will be providing elastic for the waist band as well as pockets! You will also receive a ‘Thanks it has Pockets’ booklet and Tiffany’s pocket pattern to take home so you can recreate the skirt over and over again.

Suitable for beginners or those who wish to refine their skills.
